In my journey with Body Stories, I discovered a profound connection between movement and inner peace. Guided by Cheryl Ong, I learned the art of listening to my body, finding wisdom in stillness and strength in motion.

Our sessions deepened my understanding of resilience, mirroring the enduring spirit of nature within us. Art journaling opened new avenues of expression, allowing emotions to flow without the need for words.

Most importantly, the friendships formed at Body Stories became a cherished part of this journey, fostering connections that transcended the sessions themselves. This experience wasn’t just about movement; it was a journey of self-discovery, healing, and finding joy in the simplest of moments. Body Stories has been a guiding light, profoundly impacting my approach to well-being and mindfulness in everyday life.

Coming from an athletic background, I took time to find comfort in moving - without intention, and in being - without an objective or a destination in mind.

I reveled in the rare freedom of slowing, moving, listening, and breathing along with the rhythms, sensations and imageries pulsating between, finding space to unlock and unwind unexpressed tensions and traumas shrouding me from within.

With the awareness of being seen by fellow movers, I was initially shy but gradually exchanged the discomfort with the safety, openness and compassion I felt with the space they held and the grace they reciprocated.

As a witness, I too enjoyed the calm and resonance of listening and observing from a place of curiosity and non judgemental presence, seeing the mover as a mirror of myself, unveiling and making visible the unconscious within me.

The experience left me rejuvenated, filled with newfound clarity and a deepened connection to my body and my surroundings, feeling one with nature, and part of a larger whole.

Body Stories allowed me to pause, listen and sense into what wants to emerge. To seek out the light and listen to the rhythm of nature and flow.

Body Stories is an invitation to dive deeper through movement & art that brings forth so much love and care for ourselves, each other and for Mother Nature. Cheryl’s holding of space and curation of Body Stories enabled me to awaken all my senses & reconnect with my body and self as part of a larger ecosystem. To give myself time to give thanks to Mother Nature through movement.

I loved Cheryl's uniquely refreshing Body Stories. The starter movement helped release tension in my muscles, put my body at ease for the core movement.

During the initial spontaneous movements, I was struck. I discovered that I hardly listened to my bodily sensations and inner selves. The following movements, I was able to release my pent up emotions, move freely, notice the connection between my mind and bodily movements. I am now more aware of my behaviour pattern. I am grateful to Cheryl for this special experience.

"Body Stories" is designed by a young artiste, a lady named Cheryl Ong, who passionately believes in allowing the body the space to tell its stories, by allowing time to tune in : feel, listen, observe, notice, the nuances, the sensations, the voices from various parts of the being, to surface. To inform us, with all its wisdom (and it is packed full of wisdom!) of all that is happening within us, through movement, through non-movement, through allowing, without manipulation and control; the essence of Acceptance and Letting Go.

Cheryl is also an excellent host and guide and facilitator of the process, and her embodiment of creating and holding space is something that Seri Tasripin, Michael Ong and myself feel deeply connected with. We honored and blessed by this young person, to demonstrate an art, that so many facilitators, trainers, coaches and consultants aspire to do, and it seemed to flow with her with ease.

Thank you, Cheryl, for curating this programme and this space. Because of you, we are given the space to play, to be held, to feel safe, in our own bodies. It is possibly a lost form of being for many, in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and engagements. Grateful to have found you, and grateful to have you in this journey of wellbeing.

Body Stories is a fresh and inspiring practice if you are looking to get out of your head and relate and move with your body. Just don’t expect the routine, rhythm and the “slaying” pumped-up moves of a gym/studio session. Cheryl weaves her training and talent in contemporary dance, improvisational approach and draws on holistic body-mind-movement practices. I love how Cheryl leads and brings this more mindful artistic practice that invites me to breathe easy, flow and move with the rhythm of my own body. All this in my happy place – outdoors, in nature and amongst the trees!

Body Stories has reminded me how far we have lost touch with our body, that we hustle and force our body to always do things, but the very basic concept of our body is a vessel that knows exactly where to move and go is what we have somewhat forgotten.

Being in nature calms me and sometimes we are caught up with thoughts like if it’s dirty or there are insects, forgetting that our body is made from nature and the earth. Body Stories brings me back to the state, where my body needs and craves the essence from nature.

Cheryl is a caring and genuine facilitator, you can feel her desire to bring us back to nature, and also into the nature of ourselves. It is also inspiring to see her being so focused and absorbed into the moment, which gently guides us to feel our body and the environment at the same time.

Was great for me exploring, reflecting, initiating from within, sharing, you all being a witness and empowering and holding space. After that I feel grounded, anchored in my body despite just a brief relaxing “workout”. The elements and the guided process really help my being to anchor with my physical shell more. Thank you for your work. It’s really powerful, yet simple and sacred anchoring.
